Sunday Roast is back on air! Following a brief holiday over the summer and a few successful test broadcasts during September, my weekly radio show is all set for the relaunch on Sunday 5 October 2008 6pm-8pm. Special guest Mulder will be joining me in the Bristol based studio for an hour long hardcore breaks session.

Back in 1997, Mulder released his first drum and bass record Don’t Believe / Stick-up Kid on Urban Takeover. The tracks had success on the dancefloors and were played by DJ’s such as Hype, Nicky Blackmarket , Darren Jay, Mickey Finn and Aphrodite. In 1998 he released a record on Bristol’s Tribe label called Gettin’ Blunted which ended up playing a small part in the film Human Traffic. One of his favourite musical tasks is that of remixing tracks by other artists, including remixes for Fatboy Slim, Freestylers and Prodigy. In 2002 he released his first Breaks track on Listen To The Basstone on Plastic Raygun. In 2006 he started working on a number of hardcore breaks tracks. Hardcore breaks is basically a return to the oldskool 1991-93 style with new production techniques and sounds. Early in 2008, he launched his own label Cue Burn Digital to showcase his productions.

What a party! I think I have just about recovered enough to post a blog entry about it.

Bubaking played very possibly the best set I have ever seen them play. A full on mash up of breaks, drum&bass, hiphop and lots lots more. Ben & Lex and Hoffman & Model101 risned it good and proper as usual. Jinx In Dub’s opening set of bass heavy dubwise breakbeats was a perfect start to the main room. All accompanied by top quality visuals from VJ Air.
The party went on long into the night and well into the next day. Big thanks to everyone who was involved and everyone who came down for the rave. Hope you all had fun!
For those that missed it and want to know how it went, we took some photos which you can view at the Void Gallery and all main room sets were recorded available for download from the FDM website.

The Croft were over the moon with the numbers through the door and the rather large amount spent over the bar. Apparently it was their bussiest night for months. Quite an achievement, considering it was the first time we have thrown a party at The Croft and we clashed with local festival Recydrate The West.
Expect Frustrated Disco Machine to be returning to The Croft for more top quality parties in 2009.
